movin’

So long, Joan of Arc, Steel Bridge, the Backspace, Reed, Eastmoreland Park, Alberta Park, Irving Park, Fuel, the zoo, OMSI, the Vietnam memorial, live indie pop, ginkgos, California poppies, the Roxy, unschoolers, the Black Cat (especially Billie and Brendan), Ross Island Bridge, interdimensional hot elves, the Bagdad, the arboretum, the MAX, the bubblers, Laurelhurst Park, Mt Tabor, Mt Hood, Mt St Helens, Ape Caves, Cannon Beach, the Gorge, looking askance at the Doug Fir, TriMet (especially the 6, the 72, the 75, and the 33), Powell’s, Got Phở, Alberta Market, Food 4 Less, the babe at the candy store in the Lloyd Center who recognizes me when I go there more or less yearly, the saluthaus (in theory), Berbati’s Pan, PCH, the Rimsky-Korsakoffeehouse, my intense and fueling hatred of Big Pink and the Convention Center towers, the Reed Reactor, the Eastside waterfront, the Westside waterfront, the farmers’ market, Bellagio’s, the Aladdin, the Clinton Street (especially Rocky Horror), Laughing Planet, the Paradox (both of them), that Chinese herbal place on 82nd, clouds on the West Hills seen from the Eastside, and slick Oregon rain.

Enter Duke Senior, Amiens, and other Lords, like Foresters.

Duke Senior: Now, my co-mates and brothers in exile,
Hath not old custom made this life more sweet
Than that of painted pomp? Are not these woods
More free from peril than the envious court?
Here feel we but the penalty of Adam,
The seasons’ difference; as, the icy fang
And churlish chiding of the winter’s wind,
Which, when it bites and blows upon my body,
Even till I shrink with cold, I smile and say
This is no flattery: these are counsellors
That feelingly persuade me what I am.

Sweet are the uses of adversity,
Which like the toad, ugly and venomous,
Wears yet a precious jewel in his head;
And this our life exempt from public haunt,
Finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks,
Sermons in stones, and good in every thing.
I would not change it.

Max and I want to know, too. Are you coming back and is the "you" chakraoffish or Charlie? Our hearts pitter-patter in anticipation.
